Why Clinical Research?

Overview: Clinical research trials are studies conducted to learn more about certain diseases and new possible treatments to help treat these diseases. Doctors and Scientist seek to gain more knowledge about diseases, by studying things like new drugs, devices, combinations of drugs, diet, exercise, new medical techniques and mental health techniques as a way to detect, prevent or treat diseases. Most clinical research trials need human volunteers to participate.  During a clinical trial researcher may also learn if a new treatment is more effective and/or has less harmful side effects than the standard of care treatment.

At Citta Clinical Research our aim is to improve quality of life for those in our community suffering from acute and chronic diseases, by increasing access to medical research and innovate. Additionally, we strive to find clinical trials that prevent or detect chronic diseases before they develop or are symptomatic. We also understand that illness affect families and caregivers too. Mental health research and understanding the psychological effects of disease states on our communities, is another key component in changing and improving healthcare outcomes. Short Answer: Most, if not all, the procedure during a clinical trial are covered by the clinical trial. Most of the time insurance is not billed. Often travel costs are also covered by the clinical trials, as needed. Talk with your study team to learn more.
